Bonjour, and hello! I'm Lindsay McCarty and I've been living in Paris, France for the past year; I'm originally from Chicago and just returned home in December. I graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN with a B.S. in Computer Science and a second major in Software Engineering in 2012. Due to my rigorous course-load, I never had an opportunity to study abroad; I instead took a year off from my professional career to brush up on my French, live like a true Parisian, and travel across Europe.
In Paris, I've worked part-time as a freelancer, doing a variety of software and web development work. Projects include solving and evaluating programming challenge questions, as well as designing and creating websites for friends and family. Prior to that, I worked as a Software Engineer for nearly four years at Thomson Reuters in downtown Chicago on a variety of .NET web applications.
Even though I enjoy developing software, I am interested in a position that uses more of my planning and organization skills. My favorite position that I've held was serving on the executive committee of Sanctuary Ski Club as their secretary in 2016. I have also served as a trip leader for Sanctuary on several occasions, planning and coordinating their largest weekend-long trip. Currently, I am one of the event organizers for the English-Speaking Boardgamers of Paris.
